  • Advising leaders, teams and organizations is the core of Andy’s practice. He often works with leaders who have talent and knowledge but find they’re not getting the results they expect. This is rarely due to lack of motivation or effort on their part. More often, it’s related to how challenges are understood and how efforts are coordinated across a team or division.

Engagements begin with a set of conversations to understand a situation from varying perspectives. From there, Andy may provide advisory support or facilitate a series of structured discussions. The aim is to bring clarity to how work is carried out and to support new ways of approaching key challenges and decisions.

Some engagements are brief and focused. Others continue over time, particularly when the work involves leadership transitions or the implementation of new processes.

  • There are times when new learning is necessary to achieve higher levels of performance. In these instances, Andy provides learning experiences for those directly responsible for outcomes.

Andy does not start with a predefined program. Instead, he begins by understanding where performance breaks down and what is needed to achieve desired results. Instruction is then designed to support effective change and may occur through a small number of sessions or a more sustained effort involving a team or division.

The emphasis throughout is to help help people think more clearly and act in ways that support their goals.

  • Andy works with a small number of coaching clients, allowing for focused and sustained engagement. His approach is grounded in the view that performance emerges from the interaction between an individual’s strengths and challenges and the support, expectations, and pressures within their organization.

Andy’s coaching perspective centers on how an individual understands their role, how they are influenced by the system around them, and what is needed to achieve their goals.

Coaching is oriented toward day-to-day work and real-time demands, rather than abstract development or general advice.

  • Andy facilitates structured conversations for leadership teams and boards working through complex issues or decisions. He maintains the structure and boundaries of the discussion, so everyone involved can stay focused and do not become fragmented or distracted by conflict.

The aim is to support clear thinking in real time so the group can engage the issues in front of them and move toward decisions they can act on.

  • Andy provides talks on leadership, team dynamics, and performance.

All speaking engagements are shaped by the audience and the setting. Andy’s preparation focuses on understanding the issues most relevant to the group in attendance so he can present material that is practical and useful.

Andy has extensive experience with invited presentations and lectures.
